The End of an Era.

Good morning Everyone,

We founded TheNodeMC in 2013 as a group of friends who were tired of searching for Minecraft servers and figured we could make something better. Over the years we've had many ups and downs, we've seen thousands come and go, and we've made numerous life long connections along the way. We shut down in 2018 then reopened in 2020 during the height of the pandemic. We've run Pixelmon, Vanilla, FTB and all sorts of other amazing servers and none of it would've been possible without you all.

We have made the decision to cease operations of our servers. The writing has been on the wall for many years now- we simply do not have the time, energy or passion anymore that is required to maintain a server, especially one as niche as Pixelmon. Coupled with continued changes in the space that require us to completed rewrite the server, it is just not feasible for us anymore as it would require thousands of development hours on our part.

We did do a recent last effort with the release of Hytale, we even made decent progress, including fully porting over our Pixelmon spawn/adventure world and getting some basic features setup. But after re-evaluating, we realized this too was not going to work out in a way that felt proper. Should that game become more established in the future, there's always the chance but it does not look likely.

We want to again thank all you, the playerbase and staff who have been around, seemingly forever at this point. You are what made the server special and what made it worthwhile for us to host. While this is the end of our adventures in Minecraft, we never know what the future may hold. We are going to leave our Discord up and running for as long as Discord is around as a place for you to continue to talk with friends, reminisce and play new games in the future. If we ever decide to get back into any kind of server hosting in the future, this will likely be the first place to know.
